Our Cat Care Rules
- Our café is primarily booking only and each guest must provide their full name and contact details.
- Every customer must consent to our rules and terms and conditions.
- Please do not let yourself out of the cafe, wait for a member of staff to open the door for you.
- We will check your footwear on arrival to ensure they are suitably clean to be worn in the café – ask a staff member for a wipe or shoe covers if your shoes are dirty or have been worn on farmland.
- Please sanitise your hands (with gel or by washing) on arrival.
- Do not feed our cats & cover your food and drink if approached on the table. Please ask a member of staff to assist.
- Do not bring cat toys or catnip from outside into the café without letting a member of staff know.
- Never wake sleeping cats.
- Do not chase, pick up or pull the cats, let them come to you.
- Do not put your face to the cats or kiss our cats for hygiene reasons.
- Don’t force the cats to play if they don’t want to, i.e., if they are resting.
- Feel free to take and share photos, but no flash as this will hurt their eyes.
- Do not make loud noises around the cats and walk around calmly.
- Take care not to hurt the cats with hot food or drinks and do not eat or drink away from your table.
- Please take care when walking around the cafe as cats can run out from nowhere and be careful of toys and other objects on the floor.
- Always follow advice from our staff, and do not be disheartened if you are told to not do something as they only have the cat's welfare in mind.
- Please remember all cats have different personalities and temperaments like humans. We take no responsibility for scratches or bites due to forced interaction.
- Should any cat hiss or show signs of aggression, please leave completely alone and ask a member of staff for assistance.
- We recommend you hang your bags and coats up on the hooks provided as cats do not like unfamiliar smells.
We do welcome children into our café to learn the importance of caring for animals under the following guidelines;
- Children over 6 years only are allowed in the café
- We do limit the number of children in the café at any one time to keep a calm and atmosphere for our cats.
- We ask you to educate your children in advance by talking through the same rules as above and why they are important.
- We may have to ask you to leave if they are acting inappropriately or not following the rules.
- Children are to be strictly supervised at all times when interacting with the cats and keep their faces at a safe distance.
