Nala, Lina, Kiara & Xena
We adopted Kiara, Nala, Lina & Xena in July 2018 from a rescue centre based in the UK who were asking for these 4 sisters to be rescued together. When we met with the centre and offered to take care of them, they told us the history of these girls and where they originally came from. These 4 girls were In fact Romanian cats from a charity called 'Every Life Counts'. This rescue centre was founded by a lady called Ioana and her partner Bogdan In Ramnicu Valcea, Romania. They are a young couple who have committed their lives to helping stray dogs and cats in their area in need to urgent medical attention, food, water and shelter.
Ioana rents a small piece of land and have various enclosures for both rescue cats and the dogs and have recently built a new cat house. Ioana is faced with terrible situations everyday in Romania and without her or her partner these animals would be left hopeless, in pain and unfortunately unlikely to return to proper health. They rely on donations only to help these animals and that is why we want to help. Since finding out about Ioana, we have decided to help them and raise money through our cafe to save more lives in Romania.
Every Life Counts saved our 4 girls and with donations managed to get them to the UK to find their forever home, here at Paws For Thought Cat Cafe.

Teddy, Mercury & Luna
After seeing how well the 4 girls settled into their new home, their health improving day by day and how quickly their personalities developed, we couldn't help but contact Ioana once again to offer our support to 2 more Romanian boys who needed their forever home. We donated to Every Life Counts for the boys to be vaccinated and obtain their UK passports and they were soon on their way to start their new life. Teddy & Mercury stayed at a foster home whilst we had them fully checked over by our local vets and ensured they were on the road to full recovery.
Luna was from a family in the UK, but due to a change in circumstances, unfortunately they were unable to provide the full care and attention she required. As regular visitors to Paws For Thought Cat Cafe, the family loved the environment we had created and wanted nothing more than their cat to enjoy the rest of her life here with us and the other girls.
Luna joined Teddy & Mercury at Paws For Thought in December and immediately bonded with the 4 girls.

Emmy
The amazing Ioana from Every Life Counts also rescued this poor little girl in a terrible state from the streets of Romania.
Unfortunately, Emmy needed to have a leg amputated and part of her tail as well, as it was the only way to save her little life.
We don’t know what caused the injuries but sometimes it’s better not knowing!
After having the interventions, she needed so much more care and as she was in a paid foster placement, due to not enough space in their shelter, Iona came to us and asked for our help.
Emmy was only a tiny kitten, but she had fought very hard to still have a bright future and we at Paws For Thought wanted to help give her the best chance, so we of course said yes to Ioana and offered to take Emmy in and get the best care and start to life she could possibly have.
We decided to raise the funds to cover the costs for her passports and travel to the UK, and with the amazing support from our customers and followers, we were able to raise enough to get her over to the UK and to her new home here at the cat cafe.
Emmy did not take long to settle in, she certainly didn't take any nonsense from the others, she's a feisty little girl and made sure the others knew she was here and here to stay. After a few weeks of finding her paws and settling in, she made the best of friends with our boys Teddy & Mercury, and they took to looking after her and showing her the ropes.
You may see Emmy and Mercury on your visit have their daily play fight.... like I said, she's feisty and the boys love a good rumble!
